Bodied London x Birkenstock
Founded in 2021 by massage and bodywork expert Joke Adejumo, Bodied is based on the border of Hackney and Tower Hamlets, a short distance away from Birkenstock Studio. Bodied operates to provide its clientele with meaningful connectivity between brain and frame, through quality bodywork, inclusivity and digestible education. The studio promotes massage as an essential for all to access and experience. Creating a complete picture of health and wellbeing – physically, neurologically, and emotionally.
Perfectly aligned with Birkenstock’s values of ‘walking as nature intended’ through its unrivalled footbed, which is at the heart of all models to actively support health and promote well-being, Bodied and Birkenstock came together to curate a programme focused on foot health, mobility and wellbeing, offering guests a moment of slowness, restoration, and healing.
Resident at Birkenstock Studio throughout August 2024 as part of Brikenstock’s Walk With Me series, Joke Adejumo the Bodied team hosted a series of workshops and massage therapy sessions. “It’s really important that we’re bringing something positive and equitable back to our community”, Joke says.
Rudy de Souza, working in colaboation with Bodied, created a visual identity for the Bodied residency space within Birkenstock Studio in east London. The space identity merged elements of both the Bodied and Birkenstock brands and illustration to convey the energy of the two experts collabotation. The work included, print design, social media campaign assets, moving image with typographic animation that resembles massage movement, wall design, poster designs, and art direction.
