AU LIEU – éditions extensibles @editions_extensibles

"Last year I was invited by in.plano to curate a show as part of their programme 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒔? A cycle of four exhibitions with the intention to focus on unfolding and multiple discursive history of the notion of the collective.

A few months later and in conversation with the artists, rather than a show about a specific topic, ‘𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐 𝒘𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓? Part I’ became an exhibition that explores the relationship these artists have with their practice, specifically the manipulation of image, film, their methodologies connecting with their subject and ultimately their audiences.

Including the works of two members of the collective (Tania Gheerbrant & Caroline Reveillaud) and making them converse and exist with two external artists (Chloé Quenum, Isadora Soares Belletti & Laura Huertas Millan (for Part II)) this show became a show about practices, research and media, touching on issues related to communities, postcolonial theory & gender, but also what makes a generation, a connection, an interpretive community." Noélia Portela

Exhibition cycle 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒔? and 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐 𝒘𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓? Part I & II are supported by Fondation de France as part of their "Création et Société" program.
